Just a normal weekend
This weekend has been really nice, and in a way, quite typical. Saturday morning is always ballet time for Vera while I enjoy a cappuccino next door and reading my book or catching up with friends on the phone.
Mark had made a lovely spicy carrot and lentil soup so after lunch we headed right across Sheffield to Aston Springs Farm. We went for a farm trail walk and despite one shower of rain, we had lots of sunshine and met and fed a whole host of animals, including sheep, cows, goats, chinchillas, alpaccas, geese, chickens, you name it!
Once home, we enjoyed some down time with a movie and some TV.
Today we went for a walk to the nearby Ecclessall woods, which is full of gorgeous spring bloom. Vera played in the streams and we enjoyed hearing all the birds singimg.
Then after lunch, it's been another birthday party, this time in a play barn, so good to run off some steam before the sugar loading of cakes and sweets.
In other news, we're pleased that Vera got into our local school, Dobcroft. We're pleased as it is a really good school, but more so as it is local. Two more children from the nursery will go there, so at least there will be some familiar faces.
Mark's been busy with lots of house stuff, our new wood burner and gardening in addition to work, but on Thursday, on a gloriously sunny spring evening, we met up at the Stag's Head for some food and a play in the playground. Got to make the most of it when you can!

Spring time
After a wonderful week in Sweden, spending time with family and friends, time has just flown as per usual since we got back.
We flew out to Sweden on Tuesday 24th March and enjoyed some glorious winter weather where Vera got to try ice skating and spent lots of time playing with her cousins Åke and Folke.
We love spending time with momma and moffa of course and to maximise on cuddles, playing and story time,, things that are very hard when you live far away.
On the Thursday we went up to Åre, where we got some unexpected and delightful company in the form of my best friend Anna and beautiful Amaya! Momma Gunnel made us waffles before we went to the ski slope. We rented some skis for Vera which she tried out for the first time.I'm always amazed of how persistent and focused children are when learning a new task. If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again. Vera learnt to balance, go on the little ski lift and the day after, Vera had a ski lesson, where she did brilliantly. She learnt to stop, go on the lift and shape her skis like a pizza slice ;-)
We got back to Frösön on the Friday afternoon and enjoyed some more family time with Catrine and Magnus.
Unfortunately, due to a sickness bug, we weren't able to see more of Anna, Cory and family - hoping to see you more another time!
On the Saturday, we went to Catrine and Magnus for a lovely dinner and on Sunday, we headed to Jamtli, followed by cinema for the little ones.
A week goes so/ too quickly, but we are grateful for all the memories!
