What a week!

This week we've obviously had the horrible attacks in London, but on a personal front we've also had our trials and tribulations.
Alfred had chicken pox about a month ago and doesn't seem to have fully recovered since. On Monday night he was a bit tired and a bit warm so we gave him a bit of calpol and his night bottle and put him down at 7. We checked in on him regularly and at 10pm discovered that he had thrown up, was boiling hot and worst of all the he really struggled with his breathing. He was only whimpering and breathing really faintly.
I put him in the car and drove like a mad woman to A&E. He had 40.7C in temperature when we got there and his little heart was breathing like a drum.
They gave him medicine and took regular obs and after about three hours his temperature had gone down to 38.
We saw a lovely doctor who diagnosed him with upper respiratory infection- which is viral so no medicine, just rest, fluids, calpol/ibuprofen and lots of cuddles. Boy he had us scared for a while and it's taken him all week to recover and his still not 100%. Luckily we've both got understanding and flexible employers and tomorrow is my day off.
Speaking of employers... there's a restructure happening at my work and my wonderful manager, best one I've ever had, has been made redundant.
I'm gutted. I know there's always change in the corporate world because but sometimes you just want things to stay as they are...
So looking forward to the end of this week and looking forward to a night out with some of my mummy friends tomorrow
