Vera is better

Vera was much better last night, slept through without waking up and was a happy girl this morning.
Mark took her to nursery and everything went well as you can see below!
She's been in a great mood all evening playing and giggling. So pleased!

Lost weekend

After another interrupted night, Vera was inconsolable at times, we've both been a bit better today. I stopped feeling sick and managed to eat food. Vera's apptetite has been up and down. She tried an olive yesterday and scrambled egg today and has eaten most of her bottles.

While I was feeling better I cooked some meals for the week. Makes it less stressful and frantic after work.

As the title suggests, this weekend has been a bit blahhh and just disappeared under a blanket on the sofa.

Meatballs and a chorizo and pepper frittata (reminds me of Frittata day in Edinburgh a few years ago. A story for another day. Involved me getting shat on by seagulls twice in a day!)

Happy Vera, in her cot Saturday morning

 Trying scrambled eggs
I got this toy for Vera today. She must be so bored, being indoors Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Unwell

Vera and I have been a bit out for count today. Ive spent most of the day in bed or on the sofa, not able to eat anything and feeling sick.
Vera's got a chesty cough, sneezes a lot and is very snotty. I know this Is par for course when your child is in nursery. Vera doesn't seem to have less energy, just drags herself round crying and doesn't really want to sit still and be cuddled.
She fell asleep while eating her evening bottle.

Up and down

Vera has been a bit poorly to and from during the last couple of days. At nursery on Monday, she hardly ate and didnt sleep much and was really upset on Monday night, waking up crying a number of times. On Tuesday at Terina's she was right as rain. Full of energy, ate 3 full meals... This morning I had to wake her up and she woke up crying so I know things weren't 100%. She always wakes up smiling and coo-ing. She kept crying so I didnt want to drag her along to Terina's in the cold and the rain. Mark stayed at home with her and she slept for over 2 hrs in the morning. She is obviously fighting something. She's been up and down all day, happy during her bath then crying uncontrollably. She eventually took her bottle and fell asleep.

Here she is today - fell asleep in her walker

From yesterday, when energy levels were high - but with a little snot!

Badtjej

Perfect end to the day! Water, splashing, bubbles and toys. And getting to pull the plug at the end!

Catching up and preparing for the week

Division of duties and labour at this end. I've been shopping and cooking meals for the week ahead and Mark has done super job iu cleaning the house. Vera and I went for a really long walk. It was very windy so quite hard work on the way back.

Meeting Robert

Today we went to St Albans to visit Fiona & Dan and baby Robert. Robert is nearly six weeks and very cute! He was very content as long as he got his food. Reminds me of someone?! We had some lovely home made pizza courtesy of Dan and then we went for a walk in town and in the park.

And of course, cuddles with the gorgeous Robert!
