Halloween

We're out of sweets after visits from lots of children out trick or treating!
They were all sweet and polite and it's nice to see them out having fun.

Our mini pumpkin has had a fairly restless day. I don't know if her tooth is hurting her or if more are on their way. The only time she was really content was on our walk as she loves looking around!

She is really getting better with her sleeping though and slept from 8.30pm to 6.45am - good girl!

Pumpkin carving

I've also carved a small pumpkin this afternoon, ready for tomorrow. Not that we have a habit of celebrating Halloween, but at this time of year, I enjoy anything where you get a chance to light a candle! Especially now that the clocks have gone back and it gets darker earlier. I'll put it out and light it tomorrow on 31st and hopefully Mark and I haven't eaten all the sweets should anyone knock on the door.

Vera is wearing her Halloween top - I want my mummy - a present from Terese, to celebrate.
I tried to capture her and the pumpkin earlier, not easy!

More photos of the finished article tomorrow

5 months old!

Our beloved Vera is 5 months old today! We were up at half seven morning, and have had nice day pottering about. Vera now sleeps from 7:30-8:30 pm-ish to around 7-8am and usually wakes up around 5am, and sometimes at midnight too for some food.

She is 67cm long now. We measured her yesterday, but as she's very wriggly, there's a bit of give and take.

Here she  is all snug watching Mark do some autumn cleaning in the garden, after ripping up and chewing on my Sunday Times.

Pork with apples and cider & an apple crumble on the menu today - all very domesticated!

First Tooth!

Vera got her first tooth today! It's coming up from her bottom jaw. She has been a little bit upset and cranky but nothing major. Hungry as per usual!
Mark, Vera and I went for a lovely walk this afternoon, had a mediocre coffee at a cafe in Great Shelford. Unfortunately the great delicatessen wasnt open as they make great coffee and sell lots of yummie stuff  but nice to sit outside, have a coffee, watch people and the world go by.
On the way home we walked into the Woodlands - which is a private road - to gawp at the mammoth houses there.

A nice Beef bourguignon in the oven now and soon bath time for Vera. Life is pretty good!

Chav-tastic

After a rainy day yesterday, the sun was back today. We've stocked up with sweets if anyone knocks on the door in the next couple of days. Trick or treaters I mean. We had some Jehovas Witness here today, no sweets for them! We have pumpkin too, more photos to follow.

Vera and I went for a nice walk this weekend. I bought a second hand foot muff for the pram, we'll get a proper one as it's fairly chav like!

For those of you who need to brush up your on your chav knowledge:

Totally Tropical!

Rain outside so a quiet morning here. Vera tried mango today (puree not home made may I add) - which she wolfed down. I'm getting used to all the mess she's making and I know it's only going to get worse when she starts feeding herself!

This afternoon we're going to leave Mark in peace to recuperate and pop down and see Maria and Filip for some play and fika.

Autumn Walks

Vera and I are nearly back to normal although Mark is pretty poorly. Vera and I have been out trying to get some air, yesterday in the village and today a walk near Byron's pool in Grantchester followed by coffee and scone. The weather is beautiful although with a slight chill in the air. We were all wrapped up and managed to sit outdoors in Grantchester. Quite something at the end of October!

Getting some air

As we've been unwell, Vera and I have spent far to much time indoors. Mark came home from work early as he's not feeling 100%.
Mark has just taken Vera for a walk as I have a few calls (as per usual).

Here's Vera trying out her new pram insert so that she can sit up and see out. She's also taking her new Polarn o Pyret thermals out for a spin - present from mormor. Snug as a bug...

(although looking quite scared!)

Here she is more relaxed earlier today!

When the cat's away....

I have been feasting on garlic and chili prawn pasta
Huge portion I know, but as the saying goes... starve a fever, feed a cold

This is how tired Vera was after we'd taken Mark to the station

Glorious sleep!

Vera and I have been catching up on sleep and being looked after by Mark and are slightly getting better. Her more than me, which is the main thing.

Here she is last night, sleeping soundly

Now we've just sent off Mark to London for a night out with Terese and Lynsey and I'm looking forward to a cosy night in -for a change ;-)
