Home and Away
I am sitting here in my hotel room in Singapore, having just had dinner. I got here at 17:45 local time, around 10:45 UK time, after a long flight. I flew with Singapore Airlines, so it was the jumbo, doubledecker A380 for those of you who are interested in planes. It's so large (length of two blue whales) and holds so many people (close to 500), that it's astonishing that it can lift at all!
Anyhow we got here ok and after all the usual faff with immigration, a long wait for the bags I got a taxi here to the hotel, which is close to the office. I'm now trying to tell my brain that it's 9pm and time to go to bed soon! :-)
We've had a fantastic weekend, just what I wanted before leaving Mark and Vera for a week.
On Saturday we got up and went to the Wimpole Hall Home Farm

The sun was shining and we had such a great time saying hello to all the animals! They have a lot of rare breads on the farm, and we watched the feeding time of the pigs, met cows and calves, majestic shire horses, goats, lambs, chickens, you name it!
We had both coffee and lunch outside, a treat for late September!
On the way back home, we popped in for coffee to Ana & Mark, our dear friends, who are 6 weeks away from welcoming their baby girl into the world. Such an exciting time ahead and cant wait for baby cuddles!
On Sunday morning we went to the Cheeky Monkeys playbarn in Fulbourn and met up with all the NCT crowd. Vera was upset for the first ten minutes, as I had taken her beloved (fake) Crocs off! She loves those shoes, no idea why!
Then after a while it was full steam ahead, ball pool, slides, play house and a great catch up for the adults.
Cooked a proper Sunday Lunch (see, very anglicised now!) and went for another sunny walk with Vera.
Finished off my packing and then the car arrived to take me to Heathrow. Very chatty driver (why do I always get them!). Told me everything about his split from his ex, his new partner, his council house and the merits of slow cooking. Made the time go quicker I guess. Heathrow was madness, constant queues from the moment I arrived until getting on the plane, a full 3 hours. But all in all fairly smooth!
Here are some photos from Wimpole Hall:
