The Best Girl!

Vera has now slept through the night for two nights, 7.30pm to 7.30-8-ish. This morning we even had to wake her at 8! Unbelievable. As with everything, it may not last, but I am grateful for a bit of uninterupted sleep (although I do still wake up wondering if she is going to wake up - strange!)

This morning we've been for an appointment to Opthalmology at Addenbrookes to check whether Vera's strawberry mark, or hemangioma which is the proper medical term, has affected her eye sight at all.
Vera had to take two lots of eye drops. Mark held her while these were administered, as I'm not too keen on eyes, as those of you who know me well know!
She was amazing and only whimpered a little bit. Then we had to wait until these had started working and her pupils had dilated. We then saw the consultant who looked into her eye and did an eye test. She held up cards with houses, cars and ducks in front of Vera. Vera did well, but was as interested in the consultant's finger, the ceiling, the student doctor you name it. But the consultant, who was lovely by the way, saw enough to see that Vera's eye sight is perfect and is not affected at all.

As we had been asking about Timolol at our last appointment in Dermatology she prescribed this for us - which is great! Timolol is a topical beta-blocker which has shown to aid regression in strawberry marks.

As Vera's eyes are a bit light sensitive, we'll probably be mainly indoors for the rest of the day.

With daddy last night, in pyjamas ready for bed.
