So here it is, the last day before I go back. We've been keeping busy all day with chores and fun things. At noon, Vera and I wandered over to a neighbour, Trish, who had a joint 70th drinks reception with Gillian, another neighbour. Vera wore her new stripey dress and Santa hat and was the Belle of the Ball. We were by far the youngest, with the average age around 75. A lot of knit wear! When we arrived, one lady held Vera as I took my coat off. She wandered off with Vera and after that she was passed around from one person to the next and sat in the lap of an old man for a long time, checking out his face and bottom lip with her hands. She is very social. Not one bit surprised to be held by all these new people!
We went home, Mark had to go to work for a bit - desperately trying to get everything ready for being off. Then we went shopping, had some mulled wine and mince pies.
I'm busy doing a few bits and pieces like ironing name labels into Vera's clothes, sterilising a bottle to bring to Terina, preparing my work clothes etc etc. Probably things I should have done earlier, but hey ho.
Here is a video of Vera, keeping herself and us busy!
I love reading this in 2020
