8 weeks

Vera was 8 weeks old yesterday. We had a quiet day in and Vera was smiling away and rocking in her baby bouncer. In the evening, I went out to meet some friends from work for a meal at Al Casbah, which was very nice.

This morning we've been to Sawston Health Centre to weigh Vera, who is now 5.22kgs! Vera is ahead of the cuve and the health visitor said that she was gaining well for a breastfed baby. As I've said before, not that we were in any doubt!

This afternoon we are going to another health centre, this time to Great Shelford for Vera to have her first immunisation jabs at 8 weeks. We'll see how she reacts to the jabs, hopefully well.

We are also looking forward to see Vera's aunt Pat, uncle Ken and cousin Ciara, who arrive in Cambridge today!

Here's a photo from yesterday of a very focused Vera, kicking away as usual!
