More Updates & Vera 2 months old today!

As you know we've had a nightmare with Vera's passport and Swedish Civic Registration number (samordningsnummer). We've been misinformed by the Swedish Embassy a  number of times and the 3 weeks processing time turned to 6-8 weeks. Finally this registration number came through yesterday. We need this for her Christening and for her Swedish passport as and when we get one.

Yesterday must have been a lucky day, as after a LOT of toing and froing the Irish passport agency tracking page shows that Vera's passport has been posted from Dublin. This is after numerous calls to chase, faxes confirming our travel plans and phone calls confirming our witness. The passport now has to be sent to the Irish embassy in London and then on to us. But I am optimistic as we seem to have some progress.

The Swedish and UK passport are on hold for now and I need to cancel my UK passport appointment on Monday.

Vera and I also went to Addenbrookes yesterday for an appointment with Dr Kelsall in the Paedriatic clinic to check her birth mark. Vera had her blood pressure and temperature taken whilst sleeping in the pram.
Dr Kelsall did an ultrasound on her heart, everything looked good and advised us that he did not see any reason to treat her strawberry mark as it wasnt very big and not affecting her eye sight. He told me she had a lovely name and that I should just enjoy her!
He will ask our GP to arrange a referral to a plastic surgeon in eight weeks' time for a check up. This is reassuring, as at least we know that it will be looked at and if it grows very big, there is the option of laser treatment.

Here is Vera this morning, wearing her lovely dress from the Backlund-Bartholomew family, cute leggings from the Deurell family and gorgeous new leather shoes from Edwina and Emer in Dublin. Vera is a very lucky girl to have such generous friends!

Happy one month old to cousin Folke too today!
