Richard and Marlene told us that Vera would qualify for a British passport as both Mark & I have been working in the UK for more than five years. As part of the passport application, we need to provide five years worth of P60s (bevis pa arsinkomst). As I must have mislaid the one for 2007-2008, I have been on the phone to HM Revenue & Customs to order a new statement. I also phoned the passport office to confirm that Vera is eligble. As with most Government run instances, there were long phone queues so that took up most of the morning!
Luckily, Vera was quite happy in her baby bouncer throughout.
We've just come back from an outing to the post office to pick up a passport application form and post a few bits and pieces- which should have been quick, seeing that the post office is less than a mile away, a couple of minutes in the car.
Vera started crying the minute we set off, so once we'd parked by the post office, I had to jump into the back seat and feed her! Once in the post office there was another little crying session, so I ended up doing my errands carrying her around, which calmed her down. It's amazing what you can do with one hand these days!
Once we left she was sweetness and light and snoozed happily in her car seat!
